Please don't worry about the colours and theme of the forum. Everything will be changing for a little while until we find something that works.

New Forum Boards going up tomorrow. Should give a little more interaction for everyone....

The new Boards will not be very populated, but will just give a little more definition so you can see what we are all about here at The Beer Forum.

However, in saying that, there will be some beers up there for you to view and comment on.

New Board is up. Add your own topics on your favourite beers.

Also, Some navigation icons have been put up. I know that they are not the best, but it should do for now. We will be getting someone to do graphics sooner or later.

You may start to notice a few colour changes around the forum.... Do not panic! We are just finding the right colours for us.

Just had our first problem. The Forum didn't like what we were doing to it, so it disfigured a little. It isnt back to 100% yet, but it will be shortly.

New header is up! And we will start getting it looking a little more pretty from now on.

We have a cool looking background now.... and our navigation buttons are looking pretty sweet now.

We will have a few more changes to the topic icons, and we are also going to tr and fix the old stuff up, and align the forum back to the way it was before.... perfect.

Had a talk to BlondeLa about a few problems that I am personally having with the forum, and she does agree that we are needing to think a little bit into the future.

Basically, here are our thoughts;
When we create a Beer Topic in The Beers we were originally asking for as much data on the beer as possible so that we could create a universal index of every beer. However, we have realized that a lot of the body of information that we are wanting people to write up on with each beer is 'Brewery Specific'. Meaning that the same information could possibly be duplicated for a couple of beers.

So, we are updating our rules. Read them here; The 'Topic Creation' Rules

We will be opening up a new section soon enough which will consist of different Brewery Information. However, for this to launch, we will need more members, so that we can hire more staff members.

We are working on bring Craft beers into The Beer Forum. However, this may be difficult, so hang on tight for those updates.

What we do have out at the moment though, is the Beer News section. If you hear anything about beer, be it craft beer, mainstream, or even about breweries, post something about it in the section Beer News.

Over the last week, myself and BlondeLa have had a beer tasting session with 5 others. If you don't wish to read about it all, skip the blue writing.

The way that we conduct a beer tasting session is we all bring 4 beers to the table to try. If we just so happen to double up on a beer, then so be it, we all get more to actually taste. The theory behind it is that we can get a taste of 4 x the amount of people that are included in the beer tasting, meaning that this time, since there were 7 of us, we had 28 beers on the table. Theoretically, we only drink 4 beers, seeing as we all only brought 4 beers each. The truth is far from this though. Considering that most of the beers that we taste have very high alcohol content, it makes it more like we are drinking 6-8 beers each.

Anyway, away from my rant about our beer tasting. I was there trying to gather all the notes about all the beers that we had tried. This meant all the aromas, tastes and everything, and rating it became very hard towards the end because we had drunk a lot of beer.

So, here is the important bit of this post; You no longer need to post your ratings of everything! A simple rating out of 10 for the entire beer will suffice, with a note or two of how much you liked it, and what you got from the smells and tastes.

The staff will be updating the content tonight, and make it easy to navigate, as well as make it a more pleasurable experience for you to put up your thoughts.

Ok all. Well, I think that we are basically done with all the graphics for the time being. Now we will be focusing on the content until we can get some free time.

Some words have been exchanged between myself, some staff members and some possible future staff members about a website. Don't quote anything yet, but we could be the newest beer site in town.
